What to Expect
Taman Ayun Temple
Your tour begins with a visit to Taman Ayun, the royal temple of the Mengwi Empire. Translating to "Beautiful Garden", this UNESCO World Heritage site features exquisite traditional Balinese architecture, towering multi-tiered Meru shrines, and is entirely surrounded by a wide, elegant moat that makes the temple appear to be floating on water.
Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest
Next, we travel to the cool, lush nutmeg forest of Alas Kedaton. This small nature reserve is home to hundreds of playful long-tailed macaques and large fruit bats (flying foxes) hanging in the canopy. At the heart of the forest lies a sacred ancient temple protected by the local monkeys, providing a serene yet wild atmosphere.
Tanah Lot Sunset
The climax of the tour is the legendary Tanah Lot Temple. Set upon an offshore rock formation carved by centuries of crashing ocean tides, this Hindu shrine is arguably Bali's most photographed landmark. Arrive during the golden hour to explore the grounds, view the holy sea snakes, and watch an awe-inspiring sunset as the sky turns vibrant shades of orange and purple.
