Atuh Beach is the perfect counterpoint to its famous neighbor, Diamond Beach. While Diamond Beach is wild, rugged, and dangerous to swim in, Atuh Beach offers a tranquil, secluded bay with calm waters, soft white sand, and local warungs serving fresh coconuts and seafood.

The Perfect Beach Day

Reaching the sand requires another steep hike down a set of stairs, but once you arrive, you'll be greeted by an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The bay is protected by two large peninsulas and a unique offshore rock formation that looks like a giant stiletto shoe.

During high tide, the water here is crystal clear, calm, and perfect for swimming. During low tide, the water recedes dramatically, exposing a rocky reef and tide pools. Because of this, it is highly recommended to time your visit with the high tide if you intend to swim.
