Kelingking Beach is undoubtedly the most iconic and photographed location in Nusa Penida, if not all of Bali. The word "Kelingking" translates to "Pinky Finger" in English, referencing the shape of the landmass. However, to the rest of the world, this breathtaking coastal cliff is famously known as the T-Rex of Bali because of its uncanny resemblance to the head and neck of a Tyrannosaurus Rex extending into the ocean.

"Standing at the edge of Kelingking Cliff makes you realize just how unimaginably grand and powerful nature truly is."

The Viewpoint & The Descent

Most visitors come to Kelingking strictly for the viewpoint at the top. The panoramic view of the towering limestone cliffs, blanketed in lush green vegetation and plummeting straight into the mesmerizing turquoise waters, is absolutely spectacular.

For the adventurous, a steep, treacherous, and poorly maintained set of "stairs" carved into the cliff face leads all the way down to the hidden white-sand beach below. The hike down takes about 45 minutes to an hour and requires intense physical effort (especially climbing back up). However, those who make the journey are rewarded with a pristine, secluded beach that feels like a private slice of paradise.

What Makes It So Special?

The T-Rex Shape

The unique geological formation is globally famous. The sheer scale and beauty of the cliff simply cannot be fully captured in photos—you have to see it with your own eyes.

The Hidden Beach

At the bottom lies a stretch of powdery white sand and incredibly blue water. Be extremely careful, as the ocean currents and waves here are famously powerful and dangerous.
