Broken Beach:
A Spectacular Coastal Arch

Broken Beach, locally known as Pasih Uug, is one of the most picturesque destinations in Nusa Penida. Famous for a massive natural archway created by the collapse of a cliff edge, this unique geological formation lets the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean flow directly into a stunning turquoise lagoon.
"Broken Beach is a testament to the raw power of the ocean—a beautiful destruction that created one of Bali's most awe-inspiring landscapes."
A Circular Oasis
When you visit Broken Beach, you can actually walk all the way around the edge of the sinkhole. The circular cove is surrounded by high cliffs, and the contrast between the dark, rugged limestone and the incredibly clear, blue water below is truly breathtaking.
While the beach inside the cove looks inviting, unfortunately, there is no safe way down to the sand, and swimming is strictly prohibited due to the strong undercurrents that surge through the archway. However, the view from the top is more than enough to leave you speechless.
What Makes It So Special?
Incredible Viewpoints
Walking around the crater provides endless angles for photography. You can capture the archway framing the ocean or look down directly into the swirling turquoise waters.
Manta Ray Spotting
Keep your eyes on the ocean surface while walking along the cliff edge. It is very common to spot giant Manta Rays swimming near the surface just offshore!
